Nucleation and crystallization kinetics of polyamide 12 investigated by fast scanning calorimetry

چکیده

Nucleation and crystallization of polyamide 12 (PA 12) have been systematically investigated by fast scanning calorimetry at non-isothermal isothermal conditions. The critical cooling rates crystal nucleation were determined as 300 10,000 K/s, respectively. Moreover, the half-times (t1/2,nucl) overall (t1/2,cry) show monomodal bimodal dependencies on temperature. t1/2,nucl has an approximate minimum value about 0.0005 s 333 K, which is 10–20 K above glass transition temperature, t1/2,cry two minima 0.05 0.8 383 Comparing behavior PA with other polyamides, activation energy for increases barrier short-range diffusion decreases increase amide-group density in chains.

Nucleation and crystallisation kinetics of a Na-fluorrichterite based glass by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)

The present paper shows the results of a nucleation and crystallisation study of a Nafluorrichterite glass carried out by dynamic scanning calorimetry (DSC). The kinetic study was performed using different procedures (Kissinger, Matusita-Sakka and Kissinger-AkahiraSunose (KAS) methods), and the Avrami parameter was determined from the Ozawa and Malek approximations and the Malek equation. The r...

Crystallization Kinetics of Amorphous Lactose as a Function of Moisture Content Using Isothermal Differential Scanning Calorimetry

Isothermal differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was used to study the crystallization kinetics of amorphous lactose at 3 moisture contents. Each sample was heated to several temperatures between Tg and Tm. After subtraction of an induction time, the Avrami equation was used to model the data and a Lauritzen-Hoffman like expression used to fit the crystallization rates between Tg and Tm. The ...

Determination of the activation energy of crystallization based up on Ozawa and Kissinger formalisms and thermal stability of V2O5-NiO- TeO2 glasses by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)

In the present research work, (60-x)V2O5-xNiO-40TeO2 amorphous bulk compositions with different molar percentages of 0≤x≤20 mol%, were prepared by well-known  rapid melt-quenching method. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) at different heating rates (φ) was used to thermal analyze and to obtain more insight in to the thermal stability, glass forming tendency and so calorimetric characteris...

Separation of glass transition and crystallization in metallic glasses by temperature-modulated differential scanning calorimetry

The glass transition behaviour of the four metallic glasses La55Al25Ni20 , Zn65Mg35, and Nd60Fe30Al10 and Zr30Y30Al15Ni25 has been studied by temperature-modulated di€ erential scanning calorimetry (MDSC). It is clearly demonstrated that the glass transition can be separated from crystallization by MDSC. Two glass transitions have been observed for Zn65Mg35, Nd60Fe30Al10 and Zr30Y30Al15Ni25. Ow...

Crystallization Kinetics of GeSbTe Phase-Change Nanoparticles Resolved by Ultrafast Calorimetry

Although nanostructured phase-change materials (PCMs) are considered as the building blocks of next-generation phase-change memory and other emerging optoelectronic applications, the kinetics of the crystallization, the central property in switching, remains ambiguous in the high-temperature regime. Therefore, we present here an innovative exploration of the crystallization kinetics of Ge2Sb2Te...
